Dai Viet:
A civilization arose called the Dai Viet in modern day Vietnam. They fell under Chinese control under the Tang. When the Tang started to weaken they broke free and established Dai Viet. During the time that they were conquered they learned a lot of Chinese culture and that carried over to their culture, though they continued to hold their day of independence very highly. They then established the Ly dynasty located in modern day Hanoi on the Red River delta. This location was excellent for farming rice and other crops because of the water source. They created a strong government structure and promoted agricultural trade. They also made river and road transportation.(Perry)
