Sailendra and Srivijaya:
Strong civilizations began to bloom in Southeast Asia. The Sailendra was an agricultural civilization on the island of Java. The Sailendra had amazing architecture as well as a Buddhist temple called Borobudur which has a strong Indian influence. The Sailendra fell soon to the Srivijaya kingdom. The Srivijaya ruled the Strait of Malacca and the land around it which is now modern day Indonesia. They established their capital Palembang on the island of Sumatra.(Perry)
